DECA Architecture + Design

FOUNDED AND LED BY ADAM DECHANT

Architectureand design. Elevated.

DECA is a founder-led practice working in boutique townhomes, retail, restaurants and hospitality - the four types where design decisions and financial ones are the same decision.

The founder

Adam Dechant

Over a decade of practice across project types, sizes and delivery methods — from luxury rowhomes, boutique retails shops, to eleven-unit infill rows and 19-story towers — with the same person on the drawings, in the field, and on the phone with your lender's consultant.

That range is deliberate. Boutique work benefits from big-project rigor around structure, code and cost, and large projects benefit from the care a small studio spends on a stair, a threshold, a signage band. DECA was founded to keep both in the same hands.

How the studio works

01

One architect, start to finish

The person who draws the concept runs the construction administration. Nothing is handed down a chain and diluted.

02

Pro forma is a design input

Unit mix, key count, seat count and leasable frontage get tested early, so the design that gets loved is the design that can be built.

03

Detail once, repeat well

A small kit of well-resolved details, used with discipline, buys more quality than a long list of special conditions.
